What is the difference between hard surface modeling and organic modeling?

The difference between organic modeling and hard surface modeling is just similar to their names. The organic modeling creates the 3D characters of animals or people and any other living creatures. Hard surface modeling, on the other hand, creates inorganic objects like furniture or buildings. As the  3D character modeling  has these 2 different variants, let us discuss their differences. Organic Modeling: Models of living things are considered to be organic modeling. The models may include plants and trees, people and animals. They are used for animation where the living things keep on moving. When the object is animated, it should have four sides, when possible. When the models turn into N-gons, where the sides are more than four, the models can cause deformations and can act erratically. Due to the N-gons, there can be the appearance of strange bumps that can create obstructions during the smoothing process of the model. A large number of images are required for study...

Comparison between Hard Surface Modelling and Organic Modelling

Hard surface and organic modeling are two important types of polygonal modeling or polygon mesh used in 3D animation, including movies and video games. Each type serves a specific purpose when used by animators. This article highlights the distinctions between organic and hard surface modeling. By using polygon meshes, polygonal modeling is a technique for representing or roughly simulating the surfaces of objects. It creates 3D objects from smaller parts known as polygons or triangles (polygons). Every polygon or trigonometric figure is an entirely flat figure whose connected edges and points give it shape. To create intricate models of any shape, use tris or polys or the 3d UV mapping software . Let's analyze the differences: Polygonal modeling is available in both hard surface and organic forms. People, animals, plants, and other living things are frequently represented in organic models. In contrast, hard surface modeling is intended for inorganic objects with hard surfaces, s...
